It is amazing all of the unique an interesting spins on coloring books that are happening now that the adult coloring book craze is in full swing. You come up with an idea for one, and it just might be out there. Well, this particular book combines a month long devotional with a coloring book– and it is themed for Christmas.
The devotionals in the book, are short quick reads that help us to focus our hearts and minds on God and what Christmas really means. When you open the book up, the devotion is printed on the left (with a border to color) and the right side of the book is a page to color that goes along with the message. There’s a page here for each day of December.
Plus, for those of you with families (particularly with younger children), there is a whole second half of the book. There are a dozen of mini-devotions to do with your families. They have a verse, a few questions for discussions and then a suggested prayer. And after that, the rest of the pages are children friendly coloring pages (they don’t have the same tiny details and patterns that the adult coloring books have).
I love this book for the idea of it and the variety in the pages. I haven’t colored in it yet (waiting for December 1), but the pages feel thick and heavy so I don’t expect to have problems with my coloring tools of choice.
