The ESV Illuminated Bible places the full ESV text alongside over 500 elegantly hand-lettered gold ink illustrations by renowned artist Dana Tanamachi. Printed on thick cream-colored paper, the Bible’s single-column text setting and wide margins provide generous space for additional notes, prayers, and designs—inviting readers to creatively engage with and reflect on the beauty of God’s Word.
I am so excited to be able to share the ESV Illuminated Bible on my blog today—and even better, I have the opportunity to give one away, so be sure to look for more information on that at the bottom of this post!
I’m not even sure where to begin with this Bible. When a chance came up to review this, I wasn’t 100% sure what it was that I was getting. I knew it was an ESV Bible and there was mention of it being an art journal. But, when I opened the package it arrived it I got so excited and my excitement grew while looking at this beautiful Bible.
Elegant is one word to describe it. The cover is beautiful with the gold design and printing on it. And inside is just as lovely. There are many verse illustration or simple designs throughout the pages, and the margins are spacious leaving lots of room for notes or writing out prayers. My one complaint would be that the pages are thin like many Bibles, so I expect that there is the chance for a lot of bleed-through with this. However, I love the look of this Bible so much, I’m not sure I care.
This Bible would be prefect for someone who loves to write in their Bibles or would like a separate one set up for that. This is certainly one that would make a beautiful gift for someone as well.
