About

Hello and welcome to my little corner of the internet. I hope you will pull up a chair, perhaps pour yourself a cup of coffee (or tea if you like) and stay awhile. Maybe even make a book recommendation or two of your own. I love to read and recommendations are such a fantastic way to learn what else is out there.

My favorite genres are historical fiction, mystery and suspense, and I also enjoy some good contemporary fiction. More often than not, I’m reading Christian fiction books, but occasionally some other book will catch my interest. I share what I’ve been reading every Monday and Friday here on the blog. Or you can catch my reviews on GoodReads as well. Someday I’ll share more regularly on Twitter.

Since I love to read so much, I decided a couple of years ago to start a blog and review them. Share my favorites with the world. Writing is also a hobby (at least for now, perhaps it will be my profession someday) and every Wednesday that becomes the focus around here with Writing on Wednesday posts.

So, I hope you will also introduce yourself, whether you are a fellow writer, avid reader, or just stopping by. I look forward to meeting you.

  1. Hi D.L
Thanks for following my blog. I am honored whenever someone decides to follow me. I hope I continue to keep your interest!
I submitted a review request, but don’t feel obligated if this story is not the kind of book you enjoy reading.
peace and love and reading and writing!

  2. Thank you so much for signing up to follow both The Write Edge and The Write Edge Bookshelf! I’m honored and hope you find both interesting, informative, and maybe even entertaining. I’m also going to follow your blog. It’s wonderful when we can share the love of books and stories with one another.

    Have a great weekend!

  3. Hi Dana ~
I just saw a comment from Carrie Fancett Pagels regarding your review of her story, and decided to check in with you. She (a former Michigan girl) had mentioned that you are from Michigan as I am, and we are both reviewers. I know some Kamstras from our former church, and thought I’d stop in and say “hi.” I’m in Grand Rapids and my blog is Perspectives by Nancee. I enjoyed your review of Carrie’s book, and look forward to more of your reviews!

    1. Hi Nancee,

Thanks for stopping by. It’s fun coming across other Michiganders with the same love of reading. I married into the Kamstra family, so it’s unlikely that I know you, although someone in my husband’s family may.

I currently live in Sparta, although I grew up north of here.

Again, thanks for stopping by, and I’ll be sure to check out your blog as well 🙂

    1. I am really enjoying it. I’ve been busy enough that I can’t read it as fast as I want to. Every word is so well chosen and the story so well developed. I’ll be sad to put this one down after the last page.

      1. I have a completed novel. I’m working on a sequel and enhancing the writing aspect of my blog. I am learning so much and would like to attend my first conference this next year.

      2. I saw that in your post. It’s what initially drew me to your blog. I’m looking forward to reading more. I’m from Ohio, so I will be looking into the one you attended. I’m also interested in ACFW’s comference. It’s in Nashville this next year.

      3. Some year I would love to attend the ACFW, but it’s pricey. The Breathe conference was small, but had some wonderful workshops and speakers. James Scott Bell is the keynote speaker for the 2016 and I’m so hoping to attend again.
